GIG UPDATES – take a walk on the B-SIDE

B-SIDE BAND have enjoyed a hard out summer season - playing every weekend since December. The boys' gigs at Tauranga's 50th Annual Jazz Festival gave them the chance to present the B-SIDE brand to music fans from all over. Gotta say THANX to the party animals who show their enthusiasm by cheering, dancing, singing along and (good on ya) buying B-SIDE records.

DOWN UNDER & BLUES

The original lyrics are entertaining, often funny, and refreshingly clear in an excellent mix.
Some very tidy harmonies completed the vocal offering nicely.
The varied instrumentation gives the album a rich sonic diversity.
Grab a copy and keep it in the rack with all your blues standards for those times you want to listen to something just a little different.

Tracks from the album have been played on National Radio and Kiwi FM and is available on line at Marbecks.

B-SIDE BAND - DOWN UNDER & BLUES

Bay of Plenty’s B-Side boys are back with a barrelful of blues bar bravado. Only a three-piece, they make a great rockabilly brand of blues noise.

Parkhouse wails on harmonica or saxophone, while guitarist Elton and drummer Carl Winter nail the timekeeping, others adding some tasty guitar, banjo, slide, keyboards, kazoo, bvs and percussion.

I do believe they’re tighter and heavier than on their previous album ‘Pilot Bay Blues’ and this is great barbecue music – bluesy and gutsy, without being so rowdy that Aunty May will want to go home.
